Hello, my name is Syarif Hidayat. I was born in Cianjur in 1966, I spent my childhood in those city which is located about 90 KM southern of Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia.
Since 1982, I moved to Bandung, where I studied at the State High School 4 (SMAN 4) and at the faculty of Pharmacy in the State University of Padjadjaran, I got my Bachelor degree in 1990.
Since 1991, I move to Jakarta and started to Work at the Ministry of Finance as a Pharmacist at the Center for Testing and Identification of Goods.
Lucky that in 1996 I got a good opportunity for the higher education. Since then I Studied Economy in The University of Illinonis at Urbana Champaign and got the master degree in 1997 (MSPE). This Masters degree give me a lot of opportunity to work outside Laboratory,..
Working as the official of the Ministry of Finance of The Republic of Indonesia, give me a lot of chance for traveling abroad for many purposes, namely studying, meeting, negotiation an so on. I feel really lucky,.. many parts of the the world have been visited, namely, In America; USA, Panama, Peru, in Europe: Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Russia and Germany, In Asia : Saudi Arabia, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia.
Those experience probably will never be happens if I am not the official of the Government,..
In 2010 - 2014 , I worked as a Diplomat at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. It was a really challenging job, with the main task to promote understanding and enhancing the cooperation between Indonesia and Japan, to protect Indonesia Citizen that live in Japan (there were about 25000 Indonesian in Japan) and in general, representing the Government of The Republic of Indonesia in Japan.
Working as a Diplomat, exposing ourselves to many High level official both from Japan and Indonesia and also from other countries. Not only for my self, but also for my family. several time we were very close and even have a good conversation with the President of Indonesia and also with many Minster, a very rare opportunity.
In the meantime,.. I also enjoy my hobbies in Japan. I like Photography and have made thousands pictures, Japan really a beautiful country,.. some of the picture shown in this Blog. I also enjoy sports such as table tennis, badminton, tennis, and also bowling I got several trophies .
My main hobby that I enjoy a lot in japan was Amateur Radio. I got a US Callsign AK4HW as well as Japanese Amateur Radio License JG1WCT , the lattest I got through Reciprocal Agreement in Amateur Radio between USA and Japan Government. I enjoy having made so many long distance (DX) communication using High Frequency (HF) Tranceiver/radio. at those period, I got the DX Century Club (DXCC) Award which presented by The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) a prestigious achievement for Amateur Radio Operator.and also I got Worked All States (WAS) Award
currently I also Acted as Voluntary Examiner for FCC examination in Indonesia.
Having back to Indonesia in april 2014, I was posted back as Customs Official. Currently posted in Denpasar, Bali with working area covering Bali and Nusa Tenggara Region
While working in Bali, I also active in Amateur Radio Activity,..not Only active as YB1FWO/9 operarotr, but also become the moderator in SEANET CONVENTION 2014 and Chairman of IARU Regional 3 Meeting in October 2015.
Bali is really a beautiful Island, I enjoy it by visiting many tourist spot using my bicycle, motocyle and sometime using my little suzuki katana car.
What will be next ??/ I dont know, but I will do my best for my life and my family.
